Our Story
The Marigold Co-operation has evolved through a long connection with and deep love of the people of Nepal. Over decades, friendships have formed and relationships have thrived.
The Marigold is a symbolic flower of spiritual significance in Nepal, a country very close to our hearts.
The Marigold Co-operation emerged as an inspiring partnership between people in Nepal and Australia in 2019, and has grown from our various experiences and connections in Nepal over the years. We work closely with our partners in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
The Marigold Co-operation aims to empower individuals to plan for the future in their own community. It helps to provide opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable people to make their own choices, build and sustain local enterprises.
The Marigold Co-operation is all about giving back to communities. By importing and selling quality handicrafts from selected artisans in Nepal, profits are then directed to people with disabilities or marginalised groups to allow them to set up a business, attend training, be supported in education, or improve their quality of life through assistive aids.
